With the Los Angeles Lakers victory over the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, Lakers star LeBron James passed Derek Fisher for the most postseason win in NBA history. James now has 162 playoff wins and counting.

More important than that, to James at least, the Lakers now lead the series 2-1.

Fisher, who held the record previously, played in the NBA until the age of 39 and won most of his playoff games with the Lakers, participating in the championship runs led by Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal.

James, however, was the main reason for the majority of his post-season wins, and he is still only 35 years old. While playing in the Eastern Conference, LeBron took his teams (the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat) to eight straight NBA Finals appearances.

But what James is most interested in is championships. While Fisher managed to win five by picking the right teams to play on during a long career, LeBron has only three. James hopes to win several more in Los Angeles with his new superstar teammate, Anthony Davis.

But the road to the Finals and to a championship has never been more difficult for James. If they do end up defeating the Rockets, a clash of the Los Angeles teams most likely awaits in the Western Conference Finals, where James will have to try and defeat reigning NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers, who are playing their best basketball at exactly the right time.
