LeBron James’ 36th birthday was this last Wednesday, and he celebrated it in perfect King James fashion—by hitting a new NBA milestone.

In a game against the San Antonio Spurs, the four-time MVP scored in double-digits for the 1,000th game in a row. He finished the game with 26 points, and they also won the game, which of course made the night even sweeter.

Although he reached the 1,000-game mark, LeBron had already broken the record itself all the way back in March 2018 when he reached 867 games in a row. When he did that, he surpassed Michael Jordan himself.

As of today, there’s no one who’s even close to reaching LeBron’s number of 1,000. The only one even remotely close is James Harden, who currently has a streak of 411 games. In fact, Harden’s the only active player in the league outside of James with a streak longer than 200 games.

If anyone needed more convincing of James’ greatness, this should serve as a tangible argument. Reaching 1,000 games with over ten points scored proves how durable he’s been over the years—which makes the fact that he did it on his 36th birthday all the more perfect.
