LeBron James and Bronny James made NBA history in Los Angeles Lakers’ season-opening 110-103 win over the the Minnesota Timberwolves. The pair became the first father-son duo to appear in an official game together.

The historic moment was largely a formality ever since the Lakers’ took Bronny with the No.55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. LeBron and James already shared the floor in the preseason, but a regular-season game appearance had much more weight.

The father and son checked in at the same time, with 4:00 left on the clock in the second quarter. They approached the scorer’s table and were greeted with loud cheers by the crowd.

LeBron and Bronny ended up playing together for around two and a half minutes. During that time, they almost combined for a bucket, but Bronny failed to make a three-pointer from LeBron’s pass.

Bronny ended up exiting the game with 1:19 left in the second period and didn’t return, having contributed one rebound. LeBron played 35 minutes and had 19 points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocks.

The two later appeared side-by-side at a post-game conference to share their feelings about the special moment.

“No matter how old I get, no matter how my memory may fade as I get older or whatever, I will never forget that moment,” LeBron said.

“I tried not to focus on everything that was going on around me and tried to focus on going in as a rookie and not trying to mess up. But yeah, I totally did feel the energy, and I appreciate the Laker Nation for showing support for me and my dad,” Bronny added.
