Los Angeles point guard Lonzo Ball got a boost of confidence from Lebron James after Friday’s 90-83 win over the Utah Jazz.

“I think Zo, I think he just sometimes he doesn’t realize how great he is. The things that he possesses out on the floor-when Zo realizes how good he is on the floor, it makes him a very dynamic player and it makes us even better,” James said. “And he’s been doing that as of late, his aggressiveness.”

Of course, Lebron is already aware of his own greatness. In the same night, the former Cleveland and Miami Heat star made a crucial block that could have closed the gap with Utah 27 seconds to the last whistle. He scored 22 points in total, 10 rebounds and seven assists to push the Lakers into their seventh win in eight games.

While Lonzo is far from Lebron’s level, he’s been scaling up ever since James arrived in Los Angeles. He has a combined 24 points and 17 rebounds in the last two games in 11 of 21 attempts. 15 of those points came in Wednesday’s 109-105 win over the Cavaliers.

Coach Luke Walton confirmed Lebron’s statement praising the youngster in a night he had as many rebounds as James.

“I thought Lonzo was great again as far as attacking the paint,” the coach said. “Ten defensive rebounds, that’s the guy that helps you win a lot of ball games.”
