It’s not a secret that the Los Angeles Lakers’ star LeBron James wants to own an NBA team once he wraps his NBA career. But not just any team; he wants to own an NBA team located in Las Vegas.

James reiterated his desire to be an owner of an NBA team in Sin City on Wednesday night after his Lakers played the Phoenix Suns in a preseason game at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena. The 37-year-old player, who scored 23 points in the 119-115 loss, used the postgame conference to send a personal plea to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.

“I would love to bring a team here at some point. That would be amazing. I know Adam is in Abu Dhabi right now, I believe,” James told reporters. “But he probably sees every single interview and transcript that comes through from NBA players… So, I want the team here, Adam. Thank you.”

While James’ influence in the league shouldn’t be overlooked, he is facing long odds to get his wish anytime soon. When recently asked about this, Silver said that there are no discussions about expanding the league at the moment.

On the brighter side, Silver did say that Las Vegas alongside Seattle would be suitable locations if the league was to expand. So who knows, maybe James does get his wish down the road.
