The soccer season in Europe is slowly starting with the first matches in European leagues scheduled to begin this week. Soccer fans all over the world are waiting to see how the new and improved teams will perform and see the first points of the season. But, not all players will be out in the field right away.

Manchester City’s winger Leroy Sane has suffered a knee injury during the match between City and Liverpool. The 23-year-old Sane has torn an anterior cruciate ligament and now he will have to undergo surgical intervention in Spain in the next few days.

As Pep Guardiola has said, this is incredibly bad news for the club, as the young winger will certainly miss a great part of the football season. Guardiola said that he doesn’t know how long Sane may be out of the team and that normally this kind of injury takes players out of the field for six or seven years, hopefully until February or March.

The German player injured his knee just 13 minutes after he entered the field at Wembley. During the summer season, a possible transfer to Bayern Munich was reported but this outcome of events will keep the player in City.
