Anfield was once again the host to a nerve-wracking Premier League football match this weekend between the leaders of the Premier League chart – Liverpool facing Newcastle. The match didn’t start well for Liverpool as they conceded a goal early on, but they managed to turn the tide and sustain a lead until the end of the match.

The game started with aggressive play from both sides and Newcastle’s Jetro Willems managed to shock the stadium scoring the first goal of the match early in the 7th minute. This caused an even more fierce play from Liverpool that culminated with the first goal against Newcastle scored by Sadio Mane in the 28th minute of the match.

Later in the first half, Sadio Mane reinforced his role as the man of the match scoring the second goal in the 40th minute, bringing Liverpool to the victory. The second halftime saw a very equalized play between the two teams, but didn’t see any goals scored and the match ended with a final score of 2-1.

This was Liverpool’s 14th victory in a row which is one of the longest runs in English football history.
