Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League with a 3-1 victory over Southampton. Following Shane Long’s ninth-minute opener at St. Mary’s on Friday, Naby Keita, Mohamed Salah, and Jordan Henderson secured Liverpool’s victory at Southampton.

The resilient character of the Reds led them to win seven of their last eight Premier League games. This time, following an early setback, the team got back in the game with three crucial points.

This match allowed Salah to break another record with a vital goal. While no player had scored more than 50 goals in the Premier League for Liverpool quicker than Salah, he has gone and brought the figure up to 69. This can lead to decisively taking the record off Fernando Torres (72).
