After the 1/16 finals of the English EFL Cup, current Champions League winners and Premier League runners-up Liverpool will face Arsenal at home in the next stage of the EFL Cup.

Arsenal made it through the next round after their victory over former two-time UCL champions Nottingham Forest, with a comfortable 5-0 win at Emirates Stadium.  Unai Emery rested his main players for this cup tie against the Championship side Nottingham, but even the young players were too much for the once-powerful English club.  Young Brazilian Martinelli scored two goals, followed by Rob Holding, Reiss Nelson and Joseph Wilock, each of them scoring once.

Liverpool had an easy night in Milton Kayens, winning by 0-2 on Stadium MK. Just like Unai Emery, Jurgen Klopp changed his starting 11, giving an opportunity to the young players on the roster. James Milner scored the first goal for the Reds in the 41st minute,  with the 17-year-old Dutch player Ki-Jana Hoever scored the 2nd goal in the 69th minute.

There will be another derby in the EFL Cup as Chelsea hosts Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
