After a 32-year title drought, the Los Angeles Dodgers have once again won a World Series.

The Dodgers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 in Game 6 of the 2020 World Series, giving them their first title since 1988.

It’s a huge relief for the franchise that has been so close so many times recently. The Dodgers have played in three of the last four World Series, most recently losing in 2017 to the Houston Astros, a titled marred by the fact that a league investigation discovered that the Astros cheated their way to the title by using technology to steal signs and identify upcoming pitches.

Despite 2020 being a shortened season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Dodgers title is nothing less satisfying and deserved. Los Angeles has been the top team in the league since the start of the season, finishing the regular season with more wins than any other squad.

The Dodgers are as balanced a team as the MLB has seen recently, equally strong at the plate, on the mound, and in the field. The World Series win also gives ace pitcher and future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw the one thing that his steller resume was missing, a World Series title.
