He might have only had 20 minutes on the pitch after coming on as a 70th minute substitute in his Atletico Madrid debut, but striker Luis Suarez made those limited minutes count as he recorded two goals and an assist in a 6-1 victory over Granada.

Suarez, who joined Atletico earlier in the week after being told by Barcelona that his future would not be with the Catalan club, started off on the bench and came onto the field with his team up 3-0.

Just two minutes after coming onto the pitch, Suarez contributed to a goal after setting up Marcos Llorente to beat Granada keeper Rui Silva, putting his team up 4-0.

Llorente returned the favor in the 85th minute, delivering a perfect cross to Suarez, who smacked the ball into the back of the net with a powerful header to extend Atletico’s lead to 5-0.

Granada found the net just before stoppage time, but Suarez wanted to keep his new team’s final victory margin at 5 and did so after a Llorente pass found him one-on-one with Silva. The Portuguese keeper stopped Suarez’s first shot, but the rebound found his right boot and the Uruguayan striker buried another goal.

Suarez will look to keep up his fine form with the Colchoneros as Atletico visits Huesca on Wednesday night.
