Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic scored his 10,000th career point on Monday night, scoring a whopping 50 points to lift the Mavs to a 128-114 win over the Phoenix Suns. Doncic achieved his milestone in the first quarter, doing so quicker than any other player since Michael Jordan. He is also one of only four players in NBA history to score 50 points in a Christmas Day game.

“Always, when this kind [of] award comes with a win, it’s even more fun,” Doncic said after the game. “It was a tough road game, and we won. So, outside of the 10K and 50 points, we won the game. So, I’m really happy.” This was the 24-year-old player’s sixth 50-point game, with only Michael Jordan (nine) and LeBron James (eight) racking up more.

In addition to his 50-point haul, Doncic grabbed 15 assists, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks against the Suns. This win sees the Mavs sit in fifth place in the Western Conference at 18-12. Dallas next plays against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
