Manchester United is set to sign Antony from Ajax after agreeing to a €95 million initial fee for the winger. The deal, which includes €5 million in add-ons, is set to become the second-most expensive transfer in the club’s history.

The 22-year-old player will sign a five-year contract with the Red Devils with the option of another year and is expected to complete a medical with the club while also completing the UK’s visa process.

Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag has been working to reinforce the club’s attacking lineup following the uncertain future of the main striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been rumored to seek a move away from the Red Devils in search of Champions League football. Alternative striker Anthony Martial recently suffered an Achilles injury, further depleting the team’s attacking options.

Antony arrived at Ajax in 2020 for a fee of €15 million from Brazilian club Sao Paulo. He proved to play an instrumental role in the Ajax lineup last season, scoring 12 goals in 33 games for the Dutch club. He has also represented the Brazilian national team on nine occasions.

Upon his arrival at Old Trafford, Antony will be Manchester United’s fifth signing this summer, following Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, and Casemiro.
