Manchester United have confirmed their confidence in completing a deal for Atalanta striker Rasmus Höjlund. Talks between the Premier League team and Atalanta are moving forward after United informed the Italian team that they are willing to pay €50 million ($56m) for the Danish international.

While a gap remains between Man United’s offer and Atalanta’s valuation of the player, sources have claimed that Atalanta are willing to reach a compromise to get the deal over the line.

Höjlund has been named as the most likely signing that United will complete this summer as they continue to prioritize their search for a new striker.

“We are working 24/7 [to sign a striker]. We do a lot in the club, all the power to get this done,” United manager Erik ten Hag announced.

While Höjlund remains at the top of the Red Devils’ shortlist, they are also exploring the possibility of signing Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani and Ajax frontman Mohammed Kudus as alternatives should a bid for Höjlund prove unsuccessful.

In the meantime, winger Marcus Rashford has been used as a striker as United continues their search. Even if Höjlund arrives at Old Trafford, Rashford may still need to play down the center on occasion as the new signing adjusts to Premier League life.
