Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes is an injury doubt for the team’s Premier League showdown against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night, sources familiar with the matter have revealed.

Fernandes picked up an ankle injury during the first half of the Red Devils’ FA Cup semifinal tie against Brighton & Hove Albion; a game that Man Utd won 7-6 on penalties following a goalless draw.

While manager Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff debated taking Fernandes off at halftime due to his injury, the Portuguese international was determined to continue with the game. He ended up being substituted during the first half of extra time.

Although Fenrnades was seen limping when he left Wembley Stadium after the game, he was not wearing a protective boot or any other form of support. He is due to be assessed by Man Utd’s medical staff on Monday, after which a decision will be made regarding whether or not he will train with the rest of the team ahead of the Spurs game.

Man Utd is currently fourth in the Premier League and challenging for a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
