Manchester City reportedly leads the race for highly-rated Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham. According to a recent report by ESPN, the Premier League side is “growing confident” that they can get the English international to Etihad Stadium in the summer.

Bellingham has established himself as one of the premier young players in the game in recent years. There is a long list of clubs interested in signing him, including Real Madrid and Liverpool, but the Birmingham City academy product has his eyes set on City if he was to leave Bundesliga once the 2022-23 season ends.

Man City will likely need to pay a big fee to land Bellingham, with Borussia reportedly asking north of $100 million for the teenager. However, the two clubs have a history of doing business, with the latest being transfer of Erling Haaland, which is expected to make negotiations go smoothly.

Borussia came to terms with the fact that Bellingham will leave at some point in the near future, although the German club is still keeping hopes that they can keep him at least for one more season. Bellingham played 34 games in all competitions in 2022-23, scoring 10 goals and adding six assists.

It was previously reported that Real had identified Jude Bellingham as their main target in the upcoming transfer window, and they are believed to still be in the race. However, they face an uphill battle to convince the player to shun City’s interest and come to Spain.
