Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo Nascimento de Araújo has confirmed that star striker Kylian Mbappe is looking to leave the Ligue 1 club during the current transfer window. With just one year left on his contract with the club, the 22-year-old French international has refused multiple offers for a renewal.

Leonardo explained that Mbappe’s desire to leave the club is clear. The sporting director reflected on this reality, explaining that, “If he wants to leave, we are not going to keep him, but it will be done under our conditions.”

In an effort to protect the club’s best interests, PSG refused a €160 million offer for the player from La Liga giants Real Madrid. As a result, Mbappe’s chances of departing the French club in the current transfer window are dwindling.

While Leonardo has confirmed that Mbappe has agreed not to leave the club on a free transfer, this may indeed occur should the youngster not be sold to another club before his current contract runs out in 2022.

Despite running the risk, Leonardo remains adamant that the club will not part ways with Mbappe for anything less than the fee at which he was purchased. Mbappe arrived at PSG in 2018, departing Monaco for a price tag of €180 million.
