Leo Messi led FC Barcelona to a win in his team’s return to La Liga action after a three-month hiatus, notching a goal and two assists in a 0-4 victory over Mallorca on Saturday night.

Messi, who is currently the La Liga leader in both assists and goals, reminded many of his early 2010s halcyon days with the club as he took the pitch with a familiar long hairstyle and a shaved face.

His play also reminded those who watched the game of his top performances during those years, as he effortlessly slid through the Mallorca defense to create scoring opportunities nearly at will.

At the game behind closed doors at Son Moix, Arturo Vidal, Martin Braithwaite, and Jordi Alba also found the net in a comfortable victory for the Blaugrana.

Barcelona dominated the match against 18th place Mallorca throughout all 90 minutes, recording an important win that allows them to keep pace and remain at the top of the La Liga standings as they look for their third consecutive league title.

Quique Setien’s side currently has a two-point advantage over second-place Real Madrid in their pursuit of the title. They will look to continue winning on Tuesday night as they host 19th place Leganes.
