Lionel Messi is going to go down as one of the best, if not the best, players in the history of soccer.

He added to his stunning list of achievements after scoring his fiftieth career hat trick in a Barcelona win at Sevilla on Saturday afternoon.

Messi, who has now scored three goals in a game fifty times in his soccer career, was often the only player for the Catalan side who was able to baffle the Sevilla defense.

His first goal came in the 26th minute, when he knocked a ball into the net after a volley that many other players wouldn’t have been able to score.

The next goal for the Argentinian wizard came in the 67th minute and tied the game at 2-2 with a brilliant curving shot from outside of the box. Finally, in the 85th minute, he lofted the ball over Sevilla keeper Tomas Vaclik to give Barcelona the game-winning goal.

If that wasn’t enough, he also assisted a Luis Suárez goal in stoppage time, the fourth and final game on the day for Barcelona.

Messi continued to prove his status as a legendary history in the sport of football with yet another brilliant performance on Saturday.

His next task will be helping his team advance past bitter rivals Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday night.
