AC Milan continues to reinforce its team with new arrivals this summer – the latest being the midfielder Ismael Bennacer, after British Premier League club Arsenal rejected the chance to sign the young player.

Everyone waited for Arsenal’s decision since the club had a clause in the contract with Empoli that gave them a chance to match any bid that would be offered for Bennacer by other teams. The Italian club Milan offered $16 million and another $2.2 million in addons, which Arsenal declined to match. With their rejection Arsenal paved the way for the acquirement of Bennacer by Milan.

Besides Milan, it was speculated that Napoli was also interested in the young midfielder. He will be joining his new club after the final of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The young player joined Arsenal back in 2015 but only made one first team appearance for the club, he was loaned to Tours in 2017 after which he was signed to his current club Empoli. During his professional career Ismael Bennacer has made 117 official appearances and he has managed to score 4 goals. He was named the best player in the group stages of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
