Minnesota United FC announced on Wednesday that their star attacking midfielder Emanuel Reynoso signed a new deal with the team. According to the announcement, Reynoso inked a three-year Designated Player contract that will keep him with the MLS side through the 2025 season.

The agreement between the two sides also has a club option that would allow Minnesota to extend Reynoso’s contract until 2026.

“I feel happy to be in Minnesota with my family,” Reynoso said. “So content, and I decided to re-sign for that reason.”

Minnesota’s head coach Adrian Heath also expressed his delight with the news, saying Reynoso’s stay will give the team a foundation for a successful future.

“He’s an integral part of everything we are trying to do here. We’ve always said we have one of the best players in the league and for him to commit, which for me are his main years of his career, to the club speaks volumes for what we are trying to do,” said Heath.

Emanuel Reynoso arrived in Minnesota in 2020 after spending the early part of his career with Argentina powerhouse Boca Juniors. Reynoso immediately made an impact in his debut season in MLS, dishing seven assists in just 13 matches of the regular season before setting playoff record with another seven assists.

Reynoso was in great form in the following two seasons as well, contributing 15 goals and 20 assists combined. He also made the MLS All-Star selection this year.
