Mohamed Salah helped Liverpool to a huge 2-0 home win over Manchester City on Sunday by providing an assist for Cody Gakpo’s opener and later scoring himself from a penalty kick. After the game, Salah gave another hint about leaving The Reds at the end of the season.

Salah is in the last year of his contract with Liverpool and can become a free agent in the summer. With little to no progress in negotiations between the two sides, Salah believes Sunday’s game is the last time he plays City at Anfield as a Liverpool player.

“Honestly, it’s in my head. Until now, this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool, so I was just going to enjoy it, “Salah said. “The atmosphere was incredible, so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully we just win the league and will see what will happen.”

Salah has been on a tear so far in the 2024-25 season, scoring 11 goals and adding seven assists in 13 Premier League matches. His impressive performances helped Liverpool get on top of the Premier League standings, where they are nine points clear of second-placed Arsenal.

Despite playing as well as ever, Salah previously stated that he hasn’t received a new contract offer from Liverpool and that he is coming to terms about leaving the club. But even if that happens, he won’t lack interest in his serves. Recent reports indicate that Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are already monitoring Salah’s situation and are ready to make a move for the player and sign him to a pre-contract in January.
