Monaco Signed Sevilla’s Striker Wissam Ben Yedder

With reports about Radamel Falcao’s departure to join Galatasaray, Monaco acted fast and secured a replacement for the star player, bringing his substitute from Spain.  

The Ligue 1 club have reached an agreement with striker Wissam Ben Yedder who is currently playing in the La Liga club Sevilla and the player has signed a transfer contract. Monaco was able to sign the 29-year-old player after they paid his release clause which cost them $44.7 million and he will be joining the club on a five-year-long contract that will last until 2024.  

Ben Yedder said that he chose Monaco because he believed in that project and he was determined to do everything that is possible to go after their common goals. He also added that as always, he came with the intention to prove his qualities and his desire to reach a new level.  

During this summer’s transfer season there was interest shown for the player by several European clubs, including Manchester United.  

Oleg Petrov, the vice president of Monaco, said that Ben Yedder’s arrival was an important moment for the club and it demonstrated their desire to build an ambitious team for the achievement of the club’s goals.
