The Spanish club Real Betis has been in the spotlight during the last few days, being involved in rumors concerning summer transfers and reinforcements. Finally, the club disclosed some official information regarding their latest acquirement. Betis officials confirmed that they have signed Nabil Fekir from the French club Lyon for a fee of $22.1 million.

On top of the great initial fee they added another $11.2 million in add-ons and there is a sell clause that will bring 20% to the French club on any future sale of Fekir. The 28-year-old midfielder signed a contract that will last for five years and it doesn’t include any extension clauses.

Fekir has a really long history with the French club as he has been a member of it from his youth career up until now. From the start of his professional career in Lyon, he has appeared in 192 football matches and managed to score 69 goals which says a lot about his qualities as a player.

During the summer of 2018, Betis negotiated a potential move of Fekir to the British club Liverpool for a stunning fee of almost $66 million, but those negotiations reached a dead end.
