San Antonio’s great Manu Ginobili retired Monday Morning after sixteen years of playing in the NBA, but not without receiving the much-expected appreciation from fans.

From long-time friends to basketball foes, players and fans of all classes gathered on social media to share their thoughts on the four-time NBA champion’s career. Some paid reference to Ginobili’s false Euro-step moves. Others highlighted the Argentinian point guard’s impact to the league and elsewhere.

Lebron James twitted “Congratulations on one helluva career brother! It was a pleasure to match up against you over the years. Regular season, finals, national team, didn’t matter was always a treat! The game of basketball has you to thank for the most swag move in.”

Kobe Bryant also commented, saying “You are true a champion my friend and one of the best I have ever matched up with. Enjoy life after the game hermano. You deserve that and more.”

Moments after Lebron and Kobe paid their appreciations, other legends joined in.

“Today my Manu retired. It’s like losing a family member. It was an honor and pleasure to watch you play. See you soon at the hall of fame,” Charles Barkley said.

Apart from NBA legends, tennis players like Juan Del Potro, upcoming basketballers and football fans alike all shared their best wishes to Manu’s next stage in life.
