Streaming service giant Netflix just announced the release of a new NFL-themed documentary series titled Quarterback. The series will feature Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, Minnesota Vikings’ Kirk Cousins, and Atlanta Falcons’ Marcus Mariota.

According to the official announcement, the trio of signal-callers was mic’d up for every game they played in 2022 while also being filmed in the home environment as part of the production. The series will premiere in the summer of 2023.

Netflix made the series in collaboration with NFL Films, while Mahomes’ 2PM Productions and Payton Manning’s Omaha Productions served as producers.

“I’m excited for fans to get an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at an unforgettable season for the entire Chiefs organization and for my family,” said Mahomes in an official statement.

“Playing quarterback in the NFL is a unique experience that has some pretty incredible ups and downs,” Manning added. “Thanks to this collaboration with our partners at NFL Films, 2PM Productions, and Netflix, fans will be given a unique and intimate look at what life is like as a starting QB.”

Mahomes will most likely be the star of “Quarterback,” considering his status in the game and his success in 2022. He won the NFL MVP award for his regular-season success before he led the Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Cousins helped the Vikings win the NFC North title and earned his fourth career Pro Bowl this past season. He saw less success in the playoffs, where Minnesota got eliminated in the Wild Card round by the New York Giants.

Mariota had the least success in 2022. He posted a 5-8 record as a starter for the Falcons before being benched in favor of rookie Desmond Ridder in Week 15.
