The New Orleans Saints are in negotiations with Michael Thomas, planning to sign a new contract with the young wide receiver. It can be a very lucrative contract, possibly making him the highest paid player playing in that position in the entire NFL.

The general manager of the Saints Mickey Loomis has said that the two sides were continuing the talks for a long term deal. He also said that they love what Mike has done for them and that he was a fantastic player, one of the best at that position and they hope that they will keep him as a Saint for a long time.

Also, ESPN has reported that the Saints felt comfortable to make the young player the highest paid wide receiver in NFL.

The 26-year-old player holds the record of ‘most interceptions by an NFL player’. He scored 321 in his first three seasons. During 2018, Thomas had 125 receptions for 1,405 yards. He will be paid a salary of $1.15 million in 2019.

Currently, the biggest contract that a wide receiver holds is the one by Odell Beckham Jr. who has a five-year deal weighing a stunning $90 million.
