The Neymar Jr. transfer saga took yet another twist on Monday as the star forward failed to report for Paris Saint-Germain’s first day of preseason training.

The 27-year-old star was cited by the Parisian club to show up for training on the first day of practice in preparation for the 2019-20 campaign along with the team’s other players that did not participate in summer international tournaments. However, the enigmatic forward was a no-show on the first day of practice, provoking a ominous statement by PSG.

The club’s statement was short and sweet to the point. “Paris Saint-Germain notes that Neymar Jr was not in attendance at the agreed time and place. This was without the club’s prior authorisation. The club regrets this situation and will therefore take appropriate action.”

While Neymar might want out of the French capital, PSG doesn’t plan to tolerate him turning this transfer window into a circus.

Neymar’s family, on the other hand, claims that the club knew that the Brazilian forward wouldn’t show up for practice on Monday due to “commitments” in his home country.

In any case, this saga took another unexpected twist on Monday. It’s clear that while Neymar might want to move on and join his former club in Barcelona this transfer window, his current club won’t be willing to lie down and accept his shenanigans.
