Neymar to Miss 10 Weeks with Foot Injury

One of the world’s brightest soccer stars with miss the next 10 weeks with a foot injury, hurting PSG’s Champions League dreams.

Neymar Jr., the flamboyant forward for Ligue 1’s top team, has been diagnosed with a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot.

The Brazilian player’s injury puts Paris Saint Germain in a difficult spot.

Neymar will miss both legs of PSG’s Round of 16 Champions League bout. The Parisian club drew a tough opponent in the Round of 16 against Manchester United.

This is the second time in the past two years that Neymar has sustained an hurt to the same bone. He was injured in the same place in January of 2018 as well.

This inopportune injury takes away PSG’s star player at the worst time, considering their upcoming draw against Manchester United. The ex-Barcelona Star ranks 4th in Ligue 1 with 14 goals this season.

Neymar has led PSG to a comfortable lead in France’s Ligue 1 this season. They currently maintain a 13-point lead over Lille.

Doctors expect Neymar to return to the field in April. It’s unclear if he would return in time for the next Champions League round if PSG advances.
