Brazil superstar Neymar Junior suffered yet another injury setback after finding out that he suffered a ruptured ankle ligament in a friendly match against Qatar.

The star forward hobbled off of the pitch in Brasilia after coming up lame. He suffered the injury after being tackled by a Qatar defender. The 27-year-old was unable to put any weight on his right ankle, suggesting that the injury could be serious.

Finally, Neymar left the field in tears, causing Brazil fans to fear the worst.

Those fears were confirmed shortly after the match. Brazil’s biggest star will be unable to participate in the national team’s matches in the Copa America, leaving them in a difficult position.

Neymar will have to be replaced by another attacker in the national team’s roster. Some have suggested that young Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior could be his replacement for the tournament.

Neither Brazil nor Neymar has offered any information about just how long this ankle injury will keep him off of the pitch. In any case, Paris Saint-Germain will have its fingers crossed that their biggest star won’t miss too much of the upcoming season.

Brazil kicks off their Copa America run next Friday against Bolivia.
