For the first time in 70 years, there won’t be a Pro Bowl game played the week before the Super Bowl.

The NFL has announced that the game has been canceled so that the league can focus all of its attention on making sure that the regular season and postseason are successfully completed amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Super Bowl is scheduled to be played on February 7, 2021.

While the NFL has done a fairly good job so far playing through the pandemic, there have been issues to overcome. While there have been 11 teams that have reported positive COVID-19 cases thus far, the Tenessee Titans had the biggest issues and a full-blown outbreak in their facility which caused them to reschedule their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers for later in the season and postpone their game against the Buffalo Bills, which they played this Tuesday instead of on Sunday.

Even though there will not be an actual game, there will still be fan voting and Pro Bowl teams will be announced.

A game that’s traditionally held in Hawaii, the Pro Bowl was scheduled to be held in Las Vegas this year. This is the inaugural year of the Las Vegas Raiders, who moved to the city from Oakland.

The NFL announced that Las Vegas will get to host the Pro Bowl in 2022.
