The New York Giants might be looking to move on from wideout Kadarius Toney just one year after taking him with the 20th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. According to multiple reports, general manager Joe Schoen has been taking calls on Toney and is willing to pull the trigger if the right offer comes. Some even indicate that Schoen himself reached out to teams to see the market for the Florida product.

The Giants had high hopes for Toney when they drafted him but his rookie season proved to be a disappointment. He battled injuries and COVID-19, which limited him to only 10 games. The 23-year-old player finished the season with 39 catches for 420 yards and no touchdowns.

Reportedly, the Giants are not only concerned about Toney’s production but also with some of his off-the-field behavior. It also didn’t help that the player decided to skip most of the voluntary offseason workouts despite having a new head coach and having to learn a new offensive system. It is worth noting that Toney actually reported to the Giants’ facilities, but only after the reports about his trade status surfaced.

With all of this being said, it remains unlikely that the Giants will simply hand Kadarius Toney over to another team. The offers Schoen has been getting are nowhere near close to his asking price, which might prompt the team to actually hold onto the player. Toney still has a big upside, and the new coaching staff could find a way to help him reach his potential.
