Indiana Pacers’ All-Star guard Victor Oladipo still isn’t sure whether he’ll join his team when the NBA resumes its 2019/20 season at Disney World, Orlando in July. According to Oladipo, he first wants to evaluate the potential risks before making the final decision.

Oladipo finds himself in a specific situation, as he previously spent one year recovering from torn quad tendon and only got back to action in January. The 28-year-old was in the middle of returning to game shape when the NBA suspended its activities due to coronavirus pandemic.

Now, Oladipo wants to make sure he’s fully healed before committing to the Orlando trip.

“I feel a whole lot better,” said Oladipo in a recent chat with ESPN. “I know there’s risk going into it with the unique situation that I’m in—being off so long and trying to ramp it up that fast. I’ve just got to be smart, that’s all.”

Pacers took a cautious approach with Victor Oladipo since his return, keeping him on the court around 25 minutes on average. He played a total of 13 games in 2019/20, averaging 13.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.

NBA previously informed the players that they will have to make a decision on their participation in the season resume by July 1st. However, Oladipo will be able to delay his decision until late July if Pacers decide to keep him on the active roster.

Pacers played surprisingly well this season and currently find themselves fifth in the East with 39-26 record. With healthy and game-ready Oladipo on the roster, they are expected to perform even better and are tipped for an”upset” in the wide-open Eastern Conference.
