Green Bay Packers haven’t acquired a wide receiver before the NFL trade deadline, but their offense will still get a boost for the final stretch of regular-season games.

The Packers’ No. 2 wideout Allen Lazard recovered from his core muscle surgery and has been activated from the Injured Reserve list on Tuesday. The 24-year-old player has been added to the team’s 53-men roster and is expected to be available for the upcoming game against Indianapolis Colts.

Lazard has been a revelation for the Packers this season, racking up 13 receptions for 254 yards and two touchdowns in the first three weeks. This included a 146 yards performance in an important win over New Orleans Saints in Week 3. Unfortunately, Lazard couldn’t continue his run as he suffered a core muscle injury and had to undergo surgery that landed him on injured reserve in early October.

Green Bay will now hope that the time off didn’t slow him down and that he can continue where he left off.

Lazard’s ability to contribute will especially be important if the Packers can’t count on their star WR Davante Adams. Adams hurt his ankle against Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend, with the injury forcing him to miss a significant portion of the game. He managed to finish the contest, but it is unclear whether he’ll be ready to go this week.

Packers are currently sitting at the top of NFC with a 7-2 record.
