The Week 3 clash between the Green Bay Packers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was supposed to be a showdown between the two of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady. However, that wasn’t the game we saw on Sunday was much different than that.

The two veteran QBs actually weren’t able to showcase much of their talents due to a number of factors, allowing the defenses to take the headlines. The game turned out to be a proper grind and finished with the Packers outlasting the Bucs in a 14-12 win.

The way the game started indicated that we might be in for a proper shootout. Tampa Bay put three points on the board in their first drive before the Packers responded with Rodgers’ touchdown toss to rookie wideout Romeo Doubs.

The second quarter saw Green Bay put more points on the board, with Rodgers finding wide receiver Allen Lazard with a dart throw. The Bucs, on the other hand, couldn’t get their offense going thanks to the stout Packers’ defense.

The second saw even better play by the defenses from both sides. The Bucs were particularly imposing on that side of the ball, not allowing Packers and Rodgers to move the ball at all.

Tampa managed to get one field goal in the third quarter and set themselves up for a game-saving drive in the final minutes of the contest. Brady and the bunch marched down the field after getting the ball on their own 11-yard line and finished the drive with a touchdown pass to Russell Gage. The Bucs opted for a two-point attempt to tie the game but failed to convert it after a delay of game penalty.

Aaron Rodgers finished the game by completing 27 out of 35 passes attempted while throwing for 255 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Tom Brady was 31 out of 42 on pass attempts while throwing for one  TD.
