The San Francisco 49ers, decimated by injuries and COVID-19 positive results, were no match on Thursday night for the Green Bay Packers.

Aaron Rodgers and his well-oiled machine of an offense cruised by San Francisco to an easy 34-17 win.

This matchup was a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship, but unfortunately, these are not the same 49ers that won that game and made it to the Super Bowl last year. An almost countless number of San Francisco’s starters are out with serious injuries, most notably quarterback Jimmy Goroppolo and star tight end George Kittle, who won’t be returning to the lineup any time soon.

On the other side, Rodgers is healthy and playing lights out this season, with most of his offensive weapons available to him. The Green Bay quarterback threw for 305 yards and four touchdowns, connecting with his favorite target Devante Adams for 10 receptions, 173 yards, and a touchdown.

Rodgers also got his running game back with the return of running back Aaron Jones from injury, who ran for 58 yards and gained 21 more yards catching passes out of the backfield.

San Francisco might become one of the rare teams in NFL history to not make the playoffs the year after being in the Super Bowl with a current 4-5 record and a tough two-game road trip coming up against the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams.
