Veteran kicker Mason Crosby had a bounce-back season in 2019, and it seems like this was enough to earn the confidence of Green Bay Packers once again. Packers announced over the weekend that they have inked Crosby to a three-year contract, which will pay him $12.9 million.

Crosby was one foot out of the door after the 2018 NFL season, having been in a slump most of the year and costing the Packers some big games. Still, the 35-year-old received a chance to redeem himself this past season and managed to get the most of it.

Crosby posted 91.7 percent field goal conversion, which is his career-best and also tied the Packers’ franchise record. He also missed just one extra point.

“I think when you have a guy who has been through the fire like Mason has, for a guy in my position, it makes us feel very comfortable,” said the Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst. “He obviously had an excellent year last year. He’s a big part of our team, a big part of what we’re trying to do here. I’m very hopeful that that will reach the right ending.”

Mason Crosby joined Green Bay Packers in 2007 as a sixth-round pick. He became a starter in his rookie year and never looked back. Over the course of 14 years in the league, Crosby broke several Packers’ franchise records, including Green Bay’s career scoring record, and was part of the Super Bowl XLV-winning team.

Overall, Crosby attempted 406 FGs in his career, converting 329 of them (81.0 percent). His longest field goal was from 58 yards.
