The Green Bay Packers don’t expect their Pro Bowl cornerback, Jaire Alexander, to return to action in the 2024 NFL season.

Alexander suffered a knee injury in Week 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He returned in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears but managed to be on the field for just 10 snaps before exiting and hasn’t played since.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters on Wednesday that Alexander had recently had surgery and will “most likely” be out for the season.

“It’s unfortunate,” LaFleur said. “It is what it is. I feel for him. Obviously, he was trying to get his knee right, it wasn’t getting right, and so, yeah, it’s a tough deal for all of us.”

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Alexander’s surgery was a cleanup procedure, and he might be available if the Packers make it to the Super Bowl.

Injuries have been a major issue for Jaire Alexander in the last couple of seasons. He was limited to seven games in 2023 due to back and shoulder injuries and will tie that mark in 2024.

Alexander will finish this season with 16 tackles, seven pass deflections, and two interceptions, including one he returned for a touchdown.
