It´s hard to imagine that the first leg of the Champions League matchup between PSG and Manchester United could have gone any better for the Parisians.

PSG triumphed 0-2 at Old Trafford in a crucial road victory to kick off the elimination round of their Champions League campaign.

Manchester United was a slight favorite to win on Tuesday after a fantastic run of form in which they had not lost since the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to their managerial post. The Norwegian manager took over after José Mourinho was fired back in December.

Despite the injury absences of superstar forwards Neymar Jr. and Edinson Cavani, PSG dominated the first leg of the knockout matchup. After a scoreless first half, PSG scored its first goal at the 53 minute mark of the second half.

Angel di María assisted PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe to open the scoring on the night. Young phenom Kylian Mbappé then scored a second goal for PSG only seven minutes later to double their lead to 0-2.

The Parisian side didn´t look back, closing out their 0-2 victory and taking a commanding lead.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will miss the second leg of the draw after being shown a red card at the 89th minute of last night´s game, making a seemingly impossible task even harder for the Red Devils.
