The NFL conference championship matchups are set after the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints won on Sunday.
In the AFC, the Patriots advanced to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the conference championship game next Sunday. They did this after soundly beating the Los Angeles Chargers by a 41-28 final score.
Tom Brady threw for a whopping total of 343 passing yards and a touchdown. New England also got a huge performances from running back Sony Michel, who scored three rushing touchdowns in an offensive showcase by the Patriots.
New England´s matchup against Kansas City on Sunday is their 8th consecutive conference championship game appearance, an NFL record.
The NFC game saw the New Orleans Saints sneak by the defending Super Bowl champions 20-14.
The Eagles led 14-10 at halftime, but 10 unanswered second-half points propelled New Orleans forward. Drew Brees threw two touchdown passes and threw for 301 yards. Defensive back Marshon Lattimore intercepted Eagles QB Drew Brees twice.
The Saints will host the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game next Sunday.
The winners of the Patriots/Chiefs and Saints/Rams matchup will meet in Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, Georgia on February 3.
