The New York Red Bulls’ Patryk Klimala didn’t need much time to get accustomed to the MLS after arriving from Scottish powerhouse Celtic in April. The Polish striker already scored seven goals for his new team and is playing some of the best soccer in his career.

More importantly, Klimala is enjoying the change of scenery and believes he is in a much better place and better competition than he was before. Speaking with the Daily Record earlier this week, the 23-year-old player said that, in his opinion, the MLS is better than Scottish Premiership.

“In my humble opinion, MLS is a better league than the Scottish league, and many scouts from all over the world come to the USA to look for talent,” Klimala said.

Klimala is especially content with the playing time he receives with Red Bulls, having started 19 games since his arrival. For comparison, he only started three games during the 2020-21 season with Celtic.

“I knew that there would be a greater chance for development here. For now, I think it has been a good move,” added Klimala.

Patryk Klimala made a name for himself playing in Poland, where he impressed during his stints with Jagiellonia Bialystok and Wigry Suwalki. This secured him a transfer to Celtic, who reportedly paid around $5 million for his services in early 2020. Klimala ended up spending a season and a half in Scotland, playing just 28 games and scoring three goals.
