FC Barcelona is set to be without key midfielders Pedri and Gavi when they take on Manchester United in the second leg of their Europa League playoff at Old Trafford.

Gavi is suspended for the next game after he picked up a yellow card for a second consecutive game during the first leg while Pedri is expected to be sidelined for up to a month after picking up a hamstring injury during Thursday night’s 2-2 draw between the two sides.

While the draw means that both sides still have everything to play for, Barcelona will be at a disadvantage without two of its crucial players at center midfield, not to mention that it will be their turn to make an away trip.

“It’s a very significant loss but we’ll try not to let it show,” Barcelona manager Xavi stated after Thursday night’s draw. He’ll be looking toward Frenkie de Jong, Sergi Roberto, and Pablo Torre as potential alternatives.
