Philadelphia 76ers Sign Ryan Broekhoff

Philadelphia 76ers General Manager Elton Brand revealed on Saturday that his side has completed the signing of Australian national Ryan Broekhoff for an undisclosed fee.

This move clearly comes as an attempt to add more shooting power to the 76ers roster leading up to the commencement of their season against Utah Jazz in Orlando on Thursday.

Prior to the coronavirus lockdown, Broekhoff appeared in 17 games for the Dallas Mavericks, posting 4.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 10.6 minutes per game.

Before signing for Dallas in August 2018, Broekhoff accumulated plenty of international experience, playing for Turkish side Beşiktaş from 2013 to 2015 and then Russian outfit Lokomotiv Kuban from 2015 to 2018.

One of Broekhoff’s career highlights came during his final season in Russia when he was named part of the All-EuroCup First Team after averaging an impressive 12. 3 points per game. Over 16 contests, he shot .549 from the field and .506 from beyond the arc.

Internationally, Broekhoff represented the Australian national team at an array of major tournaments, including the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro where the Boomers finished in an impressive fourth place.
