Yesterday evening was filled with an array of thrilling MLS games, with the likes of the Philadelphia Union and FC Dallas emerging triumphant.

The highest scoring game of the night came in the form of a 4-4 draw between Portland Timbers and Real Salt Lake. Portland found themselves desperate to redeem themselves following a 3-0 drubbing by Seattle Sounders, while Real Salt Lake was looking to replicate their 4-1 victory over Colorado Rapids.

The other high-scoring games of the evening were Philadelphia Union’s 4-1 victory over DC United, along with LA Galaxy’s nail-biting 3-2 win over San Jose Earthquakes.

In one of the most crucial clashes of the night, former Eastern Conference leaders Columbus Crew were held to a goalless draw by fierce rivals FC Cincinnati. Due to coming away with a single point, Columbus failed to take back the number one position from new leaders FC Toronto, who currently lead the standings by one point.

Western Conference leaders Sporting Kansas City were held to a 1-1 draw by Colorado Rapids after being reduced to ten men. This result did little to weaken Kansas City, however, as the team still leads the Western Conference standings by a five-point margin.

Tomorrow’s action sees MLS newcomers, Nashville SC and Inter Miami, face off, while reigning champions Seattle Sounders take on LAFC.
