Monday night was filled with plenty of explosive action from the UEFA Nations League, with 16 teams going head to head in order to reach the top spot in their group.

The evening’s most highly-anticipated game was between League A Group 1 opponent Netherlands and Italy. The game saw the Azzuri grab a valuable win away from home, as Nicolo Barella scored the only goal of the game on the stroke of half time. Fellow Group 1 side came from behind to defeat Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-1.

In League B, Group 1 strugglers Northern Ireland came face to face with Norway. The Norwegians made quick work of the Northern Irish, silencing the home team with a resounding 5-1 victory. In the group’s other clash, Romania secured top spot in the group with a 3-2 away win against second-placed Austria.

Moving onto League B’s Group 2, and Israel played host to Slovakia. Michal Duris grabbed a 14th minute lead for the visitors, which was canceled out by Ilay Elmkies’ 91st-minute equalizer. Fellow Group 2 side Scotland grabbed a 2-1 away win over Czech Republic, thereby rocketing themselves to the top spot.

Moving onto League C and Group 4’s Kazakhstan lost 2-1 to Belarus. With fellow group members Lithuania defeating Albania 2-1, all Group 4 teams are tied on three points.

Tuesday night sees 18 more teams battle it out, with Portugal, England, and France all taking to the field.
