Portland and San Jose Will Battle For the Last Playoff Spot

Portland Timbers and San Jose Earthquake will battle for the last Audi Playoffs spot this year. The team from Providence Park and former MLS champion has struggled this past 5 games, where they have 2 defeats and 3 draws. 

Timbers earned a point against Sporting Kansas City, the team that disappointed this year, after last season’s first place in the conference. The match was with high tension with 3 red cards shown, 2 for the hosts and 1 for the visitors. 

The first two goals were scored in just one minute when Sebastian Blanco scored for Portland in the 29th minute. In the next attack, Krizstian Nemeth leveled the score in the 30th minute. 

After that second goal the tensions rose when Brian Fernandez was sent off in the 36th minute, just minutes after he was got a yellow card. Just 2 minutes later, Roger Espinoza was sent off after a straight red card, leaving San Jose with 10 men same as Portland. 

The second half started with San Jose taking the lead through Daniel Salloi in the 46th minute. Illie Sanches was the 2nd San Jose Played sent off, when Dairon Asprilla set the final score of 2-2.
