Spring football league XFL managed to land another prominent player from the NFL. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Pro Bowl running back Phillip Lindsay has agreed to a deal with XFL’s Seattle Sea Dragons.

Lindsay will join several other former NFL players on Sea Dragons’ roster, including wide receiver Josh Gordon and quarterback Ben DiNucci. The Seattle team has three games left to play in the 2023 XLF regular season and currently sit third in the North division with a 5-2 record.

Lindsay spent most of the 2022 campaign on the Indianapolis Colts practice squad. He ended up playing in three games, rushing for 49 yards on 15 carries.

Signing with the Sea Dragons should give Lindsay an opportunity to resurrect his career. If he puts on some great performances, NFL teams might be tempted to give him an invitation to the training camp roster and allow him a chance to fight for a roster place.

Phillip Lindsay started his pro career with the Denver Broncos, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado. Lindsay rushed for 1,000+ yards in his first two seasons in the NFL while earning a Pro Bowl nod in his rookie year. He left the Broncos after an injury-riddled 2020 campaign and later also suited up for the Houston Texans and the Miami Dolphins.
