PSG and Layvin Kurzawa Agree to 4-Year Extension

Paris Saint-Germain is facing several high-profile departures after this season, but it turns out that Layvin Kurzawa won’t be among them. The French champion announced on Monday that Kurzawa inked a new four-year extension that will keep him with the club until 2024.

Kurzawa’s contract was set to expire at the end of the month, and he was mentioned as one of the players that will leave the French capital alongside Edinson Cavani, Thiago Silva, and Thomas Meunier. The 27-year-old back was reportedly already talking with potential suitors, including Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea.

PSG, however, returned with a last-minute offer in recent days and managed to convince Kurzawa to stay.

Layvin Kurzawa joined PSG back in 2015 in a transfer worth around $25 million from Monaco. Since then, Kurzawa made 123 appearances with the club and contributed with 13 goals. He also helped PSG win 14 trophies, including four Ligue 1 titles.

PSG previously announced several more signings, handing youngsters Anfane Ahamada Mze and Thierno Baldé their first professional contracts. Also, Thiago Silva, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, and Sergio Rico penned extensions that will allow them to remain with the club until the end of the UEFA Champions League campaign.
