Paris Saint-German manager Christophe Galtier has stated that forward Kylian Mbappe does not need to be convinced to remain at PSG after the team’s elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich on Wednesday. The team was defeated 2-0 at the Allianz Arena, resulting in a 3-0 loss on aggregate over both legs.

“I do not have to try to convince Kylian [to stay],” Galtier stated on Friday ahead of PSG’s Ligue 1 match away at Brest on Saturday. “Concerning Kylian, Kylian is a PSG player and he shows it in every game. He has a great determination to succeed and to perform well in order to help bring the club up to as high a level as possible.”

Galtier went on to state that the disappointment that Mbappe expressed following the defeat is normal for any player after a tournament elimination and was not connected to any dissatisfaction at the club specifically.

Mbappe has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid and was widely expected to secure a move last summer with his contract set to expire. Instead, he signed a new three-year agreement with PSG.
