United States Men’s National Team manager Gregg Berhalter has confirmed that Christian Pulisic is looking good to play in his team’s Round of 16 match against the Netherlands on Saturday night.

The Chelsea midfielder suffered a pelvic contusion as he scored the winner in a 1-0 victory that sealed the United States’ spot in the World Cup knockouts. While he was able to see out the first half, Pulsiic eventually had to be substituted at half time.

“We’re gonna see him on the training field today,” Berhalter confirmed during a press conference on Friday. “What I think is, it looks pretty good, but we’ll have to see him today on the pitch to get confirmation of that.”

Although Berhalter appeared optimistic about Pulisic’s hopes of returning to the field, he seemed less confident about forward Josh Sargent, who was substituted in the 77th minute of the Iran game due to injury. The player is currently suffering from left ankle soreness, with Berhalter adding that he is less likely than Pulisic to appear in the game against the Netherlands.
